Short answers to what people ask most. Cannot find yours? Contact us.

Can I reserve an animal online?

No. Animals cannot be held through the website, email, or phone, so we recommend visiting as soon as you find someone you like. You can book a visit time and list the animals you want to meet.

Do I need an account?

You can browse animals, see visit times and volunteer shifts, and use the quiz without one. You only sign in when you confirm a visit, apply, or sign up to volunteer, so we can keep your details and send confirmations.

How much does it cost to adopt?

Dogs are $85 and cats are $65. Seniors over 7 are free this year, and adopters 55 and older pay $40 for pets under 7. See the full list on the adoption page.

What is included in the fee?

Spay or neuter, Microchip, Vaccinations, Heartworm test (dogs) or FIV/FeLV test (cats), Dewormer, Flea and tick prevention.

What do I need to adopt?

Be at least 18 years old. Bring a government-issued photo ID. Complete a short questionnaire. Meet with an adoption counselor.

What if it does not work out?

You can return an adopted pet by appointment during open hours. We can also help you find a new home yourself.

How does fostering work?

You care for an animal in your home for a few weeks while they wait for adoption. Apply once, and we will reach out when an animal matches your availability. You can say yes or no to each request.

How old do I have to be to volunteer?

Volunteers must be 18 to volunteer on their own. Young people 10 and older can volunteer with a parent or another adult, but cannot handle animals. We suggest about 6 hours a month, with no required minimum.

I lost my pet. What should I do?

Visit the shelter often, bring a current photo, and ask staff to walk the kennels with you. You can also check our found animals online and make a flyer on our lost pet page. If your pet is microchipped, contact the chip company to confirm your details.

I found a stray. What should I do?

Call us at (404) 555-0100 or bring the animal during open hours. We will scan for a microchip and check for a match with lost pet reports.

Are donations tax deductible?

Please ask us for a receipt. Stripe also emails one after every gift.
